So I started doing something artsy fartsy. Amelia and I are making a snake out of papier mache for her falla project. I'm using a ballon as a structure, and putting the papier mache over it and letting it dry, then I will begin to put more layers. I'm not sure I'm doing it right...but hopefully it works out OK.
At least I'm TRYING...some of the mothers are just drawing it on cardboard and cutting it out. pffffft...lame. So much for the spirit of Fallas. sheesh.
Anyhow...when I come back from Granada I will take a picture of it before it's done, and then after when we've painted it and all.
Anyways. I'm going to sleep because I need to wake up at 5:30 tomorrow to get the meat for the Granada home and other such randomness.

So this month I've been excited because I thought I'd get Amelia's passport, but booo!!!! I haven't gotten it yet. Flipping paperwork people! Oh well, monday I'm getting an appointment. Let's hope this time I actually GET her passport.
Besides that annoying, tedious, frustrating news...I don't have much else to say.
They had a little carnival dress up at Amelia's kindergarden, so I dressed her up in her tutu.
Hrmmmm....yup, not much else, which is why I rarely update this blog.

Kindergarden and Pimple Update

When I took her yesterday, she started crying as soon as we went in the door. This time she knew what was coming!
Was a bit more difficult leaving her than last time, she didn't want to let go of me. When I got there the teacher said that she was ok, but that she cried more than the last time.
It's so hard to leave her there...but as everyone says, it'll get easier with time.
She's such a big girl now! I'm so proud of her!!
I'll put pictures of her in her kindergarden outfit soon.

Ohhh...btw. I must say about that pimple she had on her face....
It was apparently an infected bug bite. I took her to the ambulatorio and they told me to get her antibiotics. I didn't really want to get her the antibiotics unless it was totally neccessary, but I thought I probably should do it, but when we got out of the ambulatorio, the Pharmacy was closed, so I decided to go get it when I went down to the gym...I went down to the gym and realized I didn't have money on me. So that night, I was giving her a bath, and while praying about what to do about this infected bite, the pussy scab came off...and out squirted a BUNCH of puss! So I prayed and the Lord showed me to squeeze it lightly with my clean fingers ( this sounds like a Life With Grandpa story, lol!) and out came TONS more puss, and now it's gone. PTL!!! I'm glad I didn't have to give her a whole course of antibiotics!

I didn't get to take pictures inside her classroom, teacher kind of hinted that it's not good to make a big fuss about leaving her. Maybe when I go to pick her up later on.
But the pictures are from before we went inside the school....
Just before she went inside she asked for potty, which is good, because she's kind of picky about the people she asks, so at least she asked me so I could tell the girl to put her on the potty.
I almost didn't leave her, cause as I was walking out, she looked at me with this confused face, and said, "Mommy?" Sounding all betrayed and stuff....I was like...nooo! I have to run out of here before I take her back home with me!!!!
I think she'll do OK though...we'll see when I go to pick her up at 1:00.
Pray we'll both survive this.
P.S. She has a huge pimple on her cheek and it hurts her...poor bunchkin.

It's a miracle camera! I swear! I bought that for less then 100 euros, and it's fallen three times while on, and it still works!! Two times I thought it was just as good as dead, and so it seemed for a couple days, but after I pray, it seems to magically ressurect. I'm sooo glad, because I don't have money for another one, and not taking pictures of my daughter would be drastically depressing.

In 10 hours and 13 minutes exactly it will be 2 years since I became a mother.
I remember looking at the clock in the delivery room as soon as she came out and it was 6:05 a.m. A moment I can never change, but a moment that was worth everything that has happened so far, and that will happen in the future.
Right after I had her, I was in that weird half lying half sitting position with my legs on the stirrups and dreading having to give one more push to get the friggin placenta out, while there, I wondered if I would actually be able to love her like a normal mother should. They put her on me, and I was in shock, this little human being, this little girl was mine!
I still don't really think I felt anything like love, or whatever till a couple hours later, when the full reality of it hit me. I looked at her and I realised, she really is mine, and shes here to stay.
So, here she is, almost two, and here I am, extremely proud and happy we've both survived this far.
It's been hard, I won't lie. Sometimes I just want to curl up in a ball and sleep forever and never wake up. Shes active, which as great as that is, makes me want to tie her down for a long time. heh. But just her smile, and when she says things in her cutest lil voice, and when she gives me kissies and says "mommy sad," makes my heart want to melt and I want to squeeze her to infinity.

Beginning of August

Well, here I am, 1st of August, and it just reminds me that this month I turn 18. Turning 18 means that I will no longer be 17 (who would've guessed). I already feel I'm going to miss 17. It was an extremely interesting year for me, one full of new experiences, pain, joy, making new friends, tears, laughter...agh...you have no idea!
I've lost somethings, but gained so much more in return!
Anyways, rantings and ravings on a hot day.
I just think I'll mention that right now I miss Eman, Kat, Adrian, Adam, Esty, Lily, Vale, JM, Sophi and my nephews, they are the main people who made this year not only bearable, but enjoyable too.

Amelia is becoming increasinly stubborn, something I never really was, so it amazes me that someone so stubborn could have come out of me!
She has this thing with biting people, it's really quite painful now she has all those teeth. Anyhow, so sometimes she bites Joshua and I tell her to say sorry and give him a kiss, and she just outright says "NO!" The first time I heard that, I just kind of look at her stunned! My daughter said an outright no?! She knows why she shes saying no too. This is not good!
I kept asking her to say sorry, and every time she would looked at me and defiently say "NO!" Then I began getting very stern with her. "Amelia, say sorry to Joshua!". Still with defiance she said...."NO!"
Fuff, this was getting too much for me. Amelia, you're going to sit here until you say sorry to Joshua! So I sat her down on the bed, and pretty much left her there as she screamed and cried away!
Me: "Are you going to say sorry to Joshua now? If you say sorry you can get off the bed."
Amelia: Glares at me and continues to throw her fit
Me at a loss as to what to do: Look Amelia, see those marks on Joshua's arm? You gave him an ouchie. It's not nice. Say sorry please.
Amelia: "No sorry Joshua!"
Me: Ok, we're leaving you here.
So off I go with Joshua to get a snack for him, and I hear her crying away in my room, still throwing her fit. 2 minutes later I go in and ask her if she'll say sorry. She gets up, and very begrudingly says sorry to Joshua.
I turn around, pleased that I had stood it out, and glad Amelia had finally given in. I look back at her and shes looking at Joshua with a look of supierority and disdain, and she says "Sorry" again, but this time in a very "I'm am so much higher and mightier then thou, you should be thankful I graced you with my apolgy voice." Sheesh! Talk about pride!

Beach Fun With the Little One

We went to the beach last week for Family day. Well...my family (me and Amelia), Kat's family (her, Eman and Adrian), and Nina's family. (Nina, I guess I can adopt her as part of mine seen as me and Amelia were only two and Eman and Kat and Adrian were three....uhh...anyways)
So, we all went in metro, and we enjoyed ourselves quite muchly. Amazing how much stuff you have to take when you have a kid compared to when you're single. Theres the towels, a change of clothes for the lil one, food for the lil one, toys for the lil one, buggy, sunscreen lotion, water, a cup for the water and if possible, one of those umbrella thingys. GEEEZ.
Before Amelia all I needed was a bathing suit, a towel, a shirt (I use shorts for a bathing suit so I didn't need pants), and maybe a sandwhich thrown together at the last minute. Oh...and MAYBE some money to get icecream or some random thing at the mercadio.

I have lost all my pictures!!! Well...the ones from June 2008 all the way to May 2009.
It is a heart breaking experience...and one I will learn from, I will from now on be SURE to back up all these precious things! I've even lost the pictures from File's visit which I was going to make a post about....that's what I get for procrastenating!
Oh well...PTL, at least I have from when Amelia was 2 months up to 8 months...I should be thankful I guess.

Please pray for Amelia's paper work to get sorted out asap! She doesn't even have a nationality yet, and it seems she'll be about 5 by the time she gets it, which means...no flying on Ryanair with her, no leaving Europe. YIKES!
Pray that we'll at least be able to get her a N.I.E with no problem, that we'll find out which is the best step to take next, and that getting her nationality sorted won't be too much of a hassle and it won't involve paying a lot of money.
(I still think these paper work people are STUPID)
oh well, TYJ....I guess this is a lesson on trusting him no matter what.

I think Eman and Kat deserve a post! They have this wonderful....SOMETHING! I've been battling with Amelia for more then a week now to put her to sleep without nursing her. Whenever I try, she either doesn't sleep her nap, or it takes me 1 hour to put her to sleep.
Yesterday they put her to sleep in 5 minutes, and today in 2! With no screaming, crying, or any of that drama.
Thanks guys, and not just for this...but for being here and being snazy, fun, and talkable to friends. :D

Amelia isn't too sure whether she likes bath time or not. Shes not to keen on the hair washing (most kids aren't, I know...) but shes does enjoy sitting in the water and playing with her toys.
I gave both Antwone and Amelia a bath one day, and she really enjoyed it...but then not too long after that, I put Amelia and Joshua in the bath together, and she was freaked out.
I think it's because Joshua splashes a lot, and shes not super into that. Oh well...sigh......what to do...

A Real Challenge

Gosh, my new challenge in life is putting Amelia to sleep in her crib. I am in this moment tired of trying to pat her, sing her, or any other way you try to put a baby, to sleep.
I was all happy cause the other day she slept the whole night in her crib...but I should have known that was going to be a one time thing, cause next night she woke up in the middle of the night, and refused to be put back to sleep there, and the next night I was too tired to fight with her, and now, shes just sitting in her crib triumphantly waiting for me to admit defeat! ARGH!
I will prevail!!!!!!!!!!!!........ at least for the next half and hour or so..........Yikes, I wish I could find my camera....it seems to have vanished! Pray I find it.....and that Amelia will go to sleep in her own crib too.
Well, off to see who will win the next battle!

Ok...so, this post is a very belated birthday post for Mel (see Mel, I'm doing this for you...now you can stop being bitter. nyuck nyuck).
Well....this is the story of how we met......or....something
One day, mucho tiempo ago, when we were still living in Torrent...Mel passed by our house because she was going to the FDTP (hip hip hurray) and we were helping freakos get over there and stuff.....
SO, she passed by, and she had her hair in 2 frenchie braids...and uhhh....I don't remember what she was wearing, but she didn't have her glasses on....uhhhh....(I'm forgetting the rest now...drat)
So yes, uhhhh....she was bonding with one of the other FDTP girls, and I remember thinking with Ozie that she was a priss....I don't even remember WHY, but for some reason we did, and uhhh...gowsh....I totally forget anything else that happend!
So yeah, then like a whole year later she joined our WONDERFUL (ehum) home in Madrid...and then we bonded......ugh....too long a story...so yes, uhh...I miss Mel.
She abandoned us and all, but I still love her, and I think shes a snazzy person, who has a pelo khappy.
Anyways...Happy Belated Birthday Mel. Always remember to "BELIEVE IT" and remember the Kazikstan Kaputo! and all those fun things....stay freaky and stuff.

This was on the 26th of December, the day after we opened all the Christmas presents. She really likes puppies, so we got her puppy slippers in a puppy backpack, and a big puppy cuddle. The next morning Amelia woke up, and the FIRST thing she said was, "PUPPY!!!!"

I haven't been sleeping so well lately because Amelia was sick, and had fever and runny nose and all kinds of stuff, and yesterday she was being really fussy not wanting to quiet down, and biting my arm A LOT (I even had marks from those four darling teeth).
Anyhow, she does this thing a lot where she shoves her hand down her throat and chokes herself, and it's a little worrying sometimes, so I pulled her hand out of her mouth because she was doing that, and I got a check to rub my finger on her gums cause they seemed to be bothering her, and lo and behold...she has her 5th tooth!! She's probably had it for quite a while now, cause it's a fully grown tooth. heh.
It's at the back, and I didn't think she'd be getting a tooth there quite yet cause I thought most of the front ones would come first.
I finally know now why she was still whiny after she got over being sick and all.
So anyhow, I'm very happy that she has that tooth! It brings me great joy to know that she won't be toothless forever. hehe.

My 100th Post

Wooow...I've posted 99 (not counting this one) posts on my blog, geeez.
Well, when better to post your 100th post then at the start of the New Year eh?
Well, I'd like to say this has been the best year of my life, but I'd be lying...but I will say this....
2008 was a year of learning, a year of adapting to change, and a year of spiritual and emotional recovery. I can't say I've fully recovered, but I feel I'm well on my way, and I think that the Lord has something extra special for all of us who have had a difficult last couple years..maybe not this year, but he does have something special saved for each and everyone of us!
I have so much to be thankful for, a beautiful, intelligent daughter, a family that cares for me, trials, tests and tears which I'm still learning from, making new friends, Glenn coming to visit, and so much more!
Now as the New Year comes, all I wish for is- that whether or not I have a "good year," I'll grow closer to the Lord no matter what, that I'll find my niche in life, and that I can be the mother Amelia deserves.
So.....Good-bye 2008, 2009 is just around the corner.

But me oh my...I do have to say....what a way we're going to begin our New Year! No grapes, no T.V even if we had the grapes, and all our home sick. YEHAW! LOL
PTL, we'll figure something out....no partying for me though *sniffle, blows nose, coughs, and lays down for a nap*

It's crazy, sometimes I look at Amelia and think, "My gosh! Shes already so big! How'd time go by so quickly?"
She's such a crazy little thing. She says: mommy, mama (or amama, or gma for grandma, depends, heh), pato (for the duck in pocoyo, which is a little cartoon I put on for her), there are more words, but I just can't think of them all right now...but her latest and favorite one is puppy. Shes been saying it all day for the last week or so. Last night I was at Aqua so my mom put her to bed, and apparently she put herself to sleep by repeatedly saying, "puppy, puppy,puppy"....adorable!!! She goes up and down the slide by herself now to, which is a bit scary....but it's just too CUTE!! Park pictures coming as soon as I get them off my camera.

We have these chickens which keep coming into our garden...and they walk and cluck about a bit and go back into the neighbors garden. I really don't understand these guys...they look all pijos but then they have frogs and chickens in their garden...eh? Oh well....if it makes them happy. But yeah...jumping chickens!!!

Highlights of my week

I went to Aqua to work at the Aqua kids (not one of the highlights of my week) on Friday, and me and Esty got hungry (you're not supposed to eat while working there) so I went and bought a little pack of chips so we could sneakingly eat them, anyhow...so I'm down at mercadona, I buy the little pack of chips, and the lady gives me a bar of bread, and says something about you can buy a bag of this kind of bread, and it'll come out to 33 cents a piece....so I'm a little confused looking at her, she sticks the bread in the bag, and I go on my merry way. I was shocked, in a good way.
Highlight: I GOT A FREE BAR OF BREAD....YAHOOO!!!!!

The next day we went out witnessing, and it was this huge potato roll...me and Ezy had to go to Alameda by metro, and we were supposed to meet up with the other team that was witnessing, but I guess we miscalculated the time it would take for us to get there, so they got tired of waiting around and left without us. I was all freaked that the other guys would get lost and stuff cause none of them know much spanish, and Ezy was trying to comfort me (bless her soul, lol).
Anyhow, as we were walking around, we saw these little Emo Hiphopers (EMO WANNABES??? WANNABES OF THE WANNABES!!!!) so these emo kids were there dancing hip hop (???) and Ezy says....man, those emos are just sad.
GET IT, GET IT???!!! Muahahahahahah, we laughed so hard.

ohhhhhhhhh....and we also bought pringles!
And only a few people will understand the dream thing....right guys? I almost pee'd my pants laughing. Too good too good.

Yesterday me and Ozie and were going to watch an... ehem... movie. Lalalala...whatever....Ozie will understand....right Oz? Windows, errr...tasty things.....lalalalala. ohhh...and french people tripping....muahahah....YOU HAVE GOT TO FIND THAT MOVIE IN ENGLISH!!!!!!
Then we went out to play football...was the bomb, sum little stranger boys came and asked if they could play with us (since we are nice people) we said yes.
Was me, Fran, Timmy, Val, Ema, and Ozie....we rock the boat all day everyday. muahaha.
People running around like maniacs, pyscho kid kicking the ball to Vals stomach, same guy that didn't pass the ball to Ozie (machista!!!!!).
HIGHLIGHT: Trying to find something tastey to eat with Oz, playing football with the freaks mentioned above

Birthday post

Well...it's Amber's birthday today...so I thought before the day is over to post a happy birthday post.
yesterday was exactly 2 years since I met her. It was the day that I went to Birmingham, and me and Filz arrived there late at night. Everyone knew I was going...but only a few select knew that Filz was going (it was a surprise for Amber) So Glenn and David F. picked us up at the bus station (we had arrived at London and got the bus to Bham)and they told Filz to call Amber and pretend he was calling from Valencia...and he walks in the house, goes upstairs to Abe and Libby's room where Amber was, and yeah, in he walks into the room while talking on the cell with Amber.
Amber's reaction was priceless....she threw the phone across the room pretty much, and ran past Filz, out of the door. Her face was hilarious!! Anyhow...yeah, the story of how I first met Amber.
The days after that I didn't get to know her much cause....welll...yeah, Filz was there, lets leave it at that...hehe.
But after when I had more time to get to know her, I discovered shes a crazy, fun, easy to talk to, person.
When she came to visit Filz in January, and I was going through a difficult time, I talked to her and she made me feel really good, and shes a real good listener, and yeah..just nice to talk to.
I love you Amber...I hope this year brings you surprises as wonderful as the one Filz gave you on your fist birthday with him...hehehe.

I have a new computer!!! One without a broken screen, one that (hopefully) won't overheat every couple hours, one which doesn't have a broken DVD drive, and has a webcam, wowza, I am happy. TYJ.
This afternoon me and Amelia went to the park by ourselves, was very nice. Amelia went on the slide about 13 times straight, loved going on the swing, and we saw some little boys who she would go running up to, but once she got to them, would run back and hide her face in my legs. SO CUTE!!!
The only pity of not having anyone else there is that I have no pictures, but oh well, you can't have everything, PTL

Esy's and my first freeday together!!! Wuhooo, we rock. We went to Nuevo Centro and treated ourselves to a CBO. Esy bought stuff, I didn't, but yeah....we enjoyed ourselves, at least I did.
Highlight of my day, (if you know me you'll understand) was that on our way back in the metro, the train stopped at a station, and all of a sudden Esy said, "look a lollipop." I dashed towards it to save it, and arrived in the knick of time. LOL.The found lollipop

New Tooth

Munchkin had a fever, shes felt like a furnace!! Sleeping with her felt as if Nebuchadnezzar had thrown us both into the fiery furnace. Poor babes! Her little tooth came up though, it's going to be so cute to see her with two little teeth! Although I dread the biting!
She was quite good though, and was mushy, which made me happy!

Aqua with Ozie part 1 and birthdays

So much I haven't posted!!!! Well....I don't have pictures of these adventures, so I dont like posting about them...buuuut, this is our first Aqua story, the second is soon to come.
Well....not this sunday, last sunday, me and ozie went to Aqua....oohhhh gosh!!! Interesting day THAT was! Our van broke down, so me and Ozie had to walk from the house, to the metro which is like 20 minutes away. So yeah, we get on the metro, and Esty told us that the Aqua would be about 20 minutes from the metro stop, I thought max it would be like 30 minutes, .....but man oh man! We had to walk about 40 minutes in the heat....groan, ok, not so bad you think, but really, EASIER SAID THEN DONE. Pffft, I have people telling me, thats not so bad, HA, I wish I could see them do it. HRMPH. Anyhow we survived it alright, and we got a bottle of frozen water to alleviate our heat and dread .
Then, we got there, and we did the ballooning, and a sweet guy at Cañas y Tapas gave us a nice cafe solo (if it wouldn't have been for that I don't know if I would have survived the day, haha). By this time I was STARVED!!! I had made myself something for breakfast but hadn't had time to eat it, groan. So we ended our rounds and went off to get our pizza from our Nepali friend, Binod....GREAT, he was on HOLIDAYS!!! ugh....I could have died right there and there, my stomach was making noises I never thought could have come from my insides.
Oh well, no worries, we'll go to Carrefour and get something eat from there....plah...we totally forgot of course, it was a SUNDAY. ARGH, CLOSED!!! so we explored El Saler for a bit (I could have punched a guy in the face for blatantly staring at my ass, I was in a foul mood), and then decided that with the little money we had we could really only afford an ice cream from macdonalds to share between us. yummy, but geeez luiz. still hungry.
So we had to walk (again) 40 minutes, this time more like 50 cause we were exhausted. So yeah, we arrived, and yeah, potato rolls from there, got home, we were like zombified. I swear, we walked home laughing our heads off over the STUPIDEST little things, really really, something must of snapped in our brains, and I really don't blame us:D
Hey, at least we laughed and didn't complain much....
You gotta find the glory in the thing you do, whether it's shining shoes, or walking in sweltering heat. TYJ we made it home safe and sound, and that in the end things weren't sooo bad. I actually quite enjoyed myself (well I've convinced myself I did).

P.S. ok, this is a few hours late....but HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOOOOOOOO......
A brave spartan and a wonderful luvable huggable, cute, chic. Te quiero loca! Enjoy your 16th year. Forever lollipops, lemmings, and BUBBLES. Meh, I don't know what to say for you, your just one of those people you have to meet to understand. You make people feel comfortable around you, you're not scared to be yourself, (well, thats how I feel) and I love that about you.

What to say about you...hrmm. I proclaim her not only mentally old but physically old too. HAHAHAHAHA. YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU JULIE!!!! I miss you muchly, you and your psycho contagious laugh, you checkered sick shirt. Your my other half, not to mention my better one. haha. (Chucky, I would have posted a post fer you...but I think I'm going senial, I luv you just the same tho. YUP YUP)

And last, but by no means least, Carol! I love you a lot. Pretty, fun, awesome mother, wonderful person, gosh, so much to say but I don't know how to put it all into words. Anyhow, your amazing. Muchos besos y abrazos y todo eso.

Jordan was jumping from this tree and saying his, "to infinity and beyond" (hes been obsessed with buzzlightyear lately!....GROAN)...and Antwone wanted to copy him, so I put him on this tree trunk, and he was too frightened to jump from it. heh, cutsie!! and Amelia crawls EVERYWHERE...gosh, its insanity, you have to be suuuper careful with her, you turn for a second and shes gone. Terra Mitica

Well...I realized I don't actually have many of either...seen as while I was in Terra Mitica I decided not to take my camera along since I went on all the rides I could possibly go on (I feel so accomplished:P)

So strange!!! I went out for the whole day without my daughter, I think I did pretty well, I was quite nervous though. But she survived and thanks to my mom I had a great time out.
I saw Tete for the first time in like three years!! I love her...shes the bomb, and I had tons of fun with her. She even overcame her fears and went on almost all the scary rides. VIVA TETE. lol

I have finally decided to post on my recently dormant blog. After having a few issues with my computer, I was slightly afraid to put pictures on it , so yeah....hrmm...not the most interesting to post when you have no photos. sooooo....here are some pictures of my bunchkin.
Shes getting HUGE.... it's insane!!! agh.... I've decided I'm going to stop time, nyak nyak.
No...but seriously... shes been learning sooo much this last month!!!

and thats not even everything....its crazy how quickly babies grow, and I almost cried the other day. At least she has no teeth yet. muahahahahha.
Guess Esty is right.... I probably will cry on Amelia's first birthday. DANG.
PTL....I just pray I do a good job as a mother.

I've learned a lot of lessons and stuff in this past month too. One of them being, that the Lord will always be there, even when I feel like my world's about to crumble and fall around me!
I've rediscovered that the family IS where I want to be, and when my loved ones forsake me then will the Lord lift me up! I'm in the Lord's army and I'm gonna fight till I drop. PTL for trials and tribulations, they really do help us grow closer to Jesus, and its worth the pain and strain for the gain. WUHO...that rhymed.
